I never dreamed of doing half of the things I have done in the past year since joining Thirty-one. I take this seriously as a business so my whole mission is to grow and get and develop as many skills as I possibly can.
I never imagined I could do a Facebook live. But I’ve done dozens of videos, I didn’t die and I’m not even scared anymore. This is such a great way to connect with your community and I figure if they don’t like me they aren’t my people. I will be honest with you, I spent a large part of my life worrying if people liked me and trying to fit in. But now I try to let my toteally awesome weirdo flag fly.
I have a YouTube channel. Again when I started I was scared to rewatch any videos I made. Now I have put it out there for the world. Youtube is a really easy way to record and save content for sharing. Its tough buying a product you have never seen in real life but on video you can see the size, the features and you have a better idea of what the colors and prints really look like.
Another thing I’ve learned is that you can really make real friends on the internet. My husband always asks me if I’m talking about my real friends or my Facebook friends but to me I believe its the same thing. Finding a connection is key and developing a real friendship through common interests. I have also learned that you can’t start a friendship by adding your friends friends and message people right away to join your company. No I don’t do that but it happens a lot.
I also learned that Thirty-one is a flipping good company. Like seriously good. The home office has the best hearts. If I’m feeling down I really only need to call in because they will make me feel amazing! They also spoil us rotten. I get new products every three months and they are always running extra incentives giving us discounts, early access to sales and credits for us to use on our business.
